This is one of the famous temple function in the nagapattinam district, tamilnadu.

This “kaliyamman Temple” was in

Fisherman street, Thirumullaivasal, nagapattinam (D.T), Tamilnadu (S.T),India.

This function not only celebrating as the temple function. The main concept of this function is given….

This temple is maintained by fishermen peoples of this village. That all are working hardly in the whole year. But the function time fishing work will be stopped for the 13 days in whole village, for obeying village fisheries panjayath order [This order is given by 10 members of fisheries panjayath union consulting with village people]. These 13 days will be a HEAVEN for this village people. At these 13 days all people in Thirumullaivasal village will come to celebrate the function. Almost 10% of people are working in other countries as the daily workers and some of them are higher position. But at the function time almost all of them are take the leave and come to him native (Thirumullaivasal) for the function.

9^th day Night Karakattam will start at 9.00pm. At 2.00am Lighting (vaanavedikkai) will be start with 3 different crackers group. This will be continuously for 3 hours as a competition. The best crackers group will be selected by the people and prizes wil be given by fisheries panjayath. First prize gold chain, Second prize gold ring.

10^th day is Theemithi Thiruvila day. Around 4.30pm Theemithi will be start.

10^th day Night is main function, on that day famous singer’s of Tamilnadu, famous orchestra of Tamilnadu (on current situation) will be there on stage. Some of singer’s who come to this village are “Anuratha sriram” (two times) after ‘karupputhan enakku pudicha kalaru’ song hit, “Malgudi Suba” after ‘thaiya thaiya’ song hit, “paravai Muniyamma” after ‘singam pole’ song hit, “Manickam Vinayagam” after ‘kannukulla oruthi’ song hit, “karunass” after his ‘othakallu mookkuthi’ album hit, Airtel super singer junior winners “Srikanth”, “Nithiyasri” after two weeks of SSJ title winning, etc…

11^th day around 4.30pm “Manjal vilaiyattu” function will be there. It’s a nice entertainment for the people like Holi festival.
